Death of Well-Known Citizen
Mr. E. Wiggers died at his apartment in the Vauxhall Flats yesterday evening 5/14/05
Mr. Wiggers was in his 70th year, and had been a resident of this city many years, coming to America from Germany in 1859, to which place he returned and learned the watch-makers' trade, coming again to America in 1863 and settling in Southern Georgia, where he remained for two years. He came to Nashville in 1865 and engaged in the jewelry business, in which he continued until his death, though for the past few months his health has not permitted his active attendance to his duties.
Mr. Wiggers was a member of the Cumberland Lodge, F. & A. M. He is survived by Mrs. Wiggers, two sons, Oscar E. and Alvin S.; a daughter, Miss Alma Wiggers, and a brother Halbert Wiggers, a manufactures of New York City.
